On the first week of this challenge, around October 4, 2011 I created my first video blog with a blogging camera that my husband bought me, so that I could document this journey and talk to Dr. Oz during the process. Very very intimidating. I have never done this, and I hate seeing myself on camera, but if I can one day inspire others to try and break through all the obstacles I am about to break through, then that is the purpose. One of the absolute greatest joys for me is to take the amazing wisdom people have shared with me, and pass it on to others. What a gift to be able to inspire or help someone else. So for the blogging, I really needed to set all of my fears, anxieties, and self-consciousness aside. I was going to “re-do” the video until I was happy with the way I looked, the way I sounded, etc….and then a good friend told me, “Wendy, if you don’t put the “perfection” aside, you are never going to do it. It will never be perfect, and then it will never get out there. Just do it!”
So….here it is world!…my first video. (Don’t mind the purple eyeshadow that came out very weird in the lighting!)
OHHHH Wendy.. I loved the purple eye shadow… You CAN do this.. You ARE doing this… and you WILL continue to do this.. what a inspiration you are for sooo many… I am sooo proud of you.. You look gorgeous and I think of you everyday… Your a real teacher… Your a real person and it shows.. I love you xoxooxox
I had heard about your journey & blog from one of Warren’s recent FB posts. I love your blog and your first video was great! You are such an inspiration and your level of motivation is super-amazing! You are certainly going about this in all the right ways. You’re prepared, organized, motivated and I have no doubt that you will succeed beyond your goals! Keep up the great work and I look forward to following you on your journey.
Love and hugs!

Thanks so much for following. It took me 3 days to hit the post button for the video. Really hard to let it out there, but then when I find out people are following and are inspired, I know that is the entire purpose of it all. Thank you sooo much for following!
OFCOURSE you can do it. “I can do everything through him who gives me strength” Philippians 4:13.
Are you really walking/running every morning for 5 miles? Would love to know more about this and what gym you’re going to.
Lots of love – Laurie
Thanks for sharing your first vlog! Excellent!
I hope that you enjoy your first Spin class. I love it so much that I bought my own Spin bike many years ago, and Spin to videos in my basement. I have tried different exercise classes and have always felt like such a spazz. When I Spin I feel so strong and competent! Anxious to know what you think of your first class. They are major calorie burners.
Wendy, You are awesome! Its a wonderful feeling to all of a sudden say, “I CAN do this!” The blog is so honest and empowering and the video came out great. I had put back on about 25 pounds since my Lap-band surgery because of the Fibromyalgia medicines that completely halted my metabolism. I have just lost 13 pounds in the last 4 weeks (through the holidays too!) with Take Shape For Life after seeing my cousin lose 33 pounds in 11 weeks ,and find all the same struggles. Its great to be able to learn and know you are not alone in these struggles. I wish you the best of luck on your journey to better health, and the money wouldn’t be a bad thing either! I will be following and keeping you in my prayers! XOXO
Wendy! This is amazing!! I am soo excited for you. You have a great plan and a great start. This is so exciting. I can’t wait to see how many people you will inspire through your journey. I already know that many lives are going to be changed, besides your own of course!! I’m following you and cheering for you and praying for you every step of the way!
Thanks so much for the support Jen. It has been very exciting so far. Posting the blog took a lot for me, but the responses have meant to much. Thanks for the encouragement, and every time you think of me, please keep praying!!! Thanks, Love, Wendy
Those who love you, know who you are, and know how much you give of yourself to friends, and family; we, they, and I are not focusing on your eyeshadow. We are reading and watching in awe, as you grow and show the world how brave and courageous you are in taking the battle of weight by the horns and kick’n a…butt! “Kick’n it Wendy ‘s way with grace and style!!!” (by the way….what the heck other color shadow are ya go’n tah where? …that’s your signature color!)
The video was terrific. What a journey. You will love seeing this first video when you have completed your goals. Believe it or not – you are motivating me to move on with my business goals. It is no different – when we want to accomplish something, we have to set the time aside to make it happen. Kudos to you my friend and Sister in Christ!
Wendy what courage! You go girl ! You are a amazing person already, and now taking on the weight challenge and being so transparent about it…awesome. I’ll pray for your journey and take inspiration from your journey into mine.
I was in awe just watching your very first BLOG!!! Your honesty is…well…HONEST. Especially for those of us who struggle as well. You just went public but with all of our words and feelings too. I realize that you are just putting your first blogs and posts up from the beginning and that we will catch up within the week. But let be clear for all of those following who do not get to see you on a daily or weekly basis…your face has already CHANGED…dramatically! You already look amazing, keep it up…is shows!
oh my god Wendy – what a great undertaking. You are definitely that person who accomplishes what you put your mind to. I know you will be successful and I know you have ALOT of people cheering you on, just want you to know that I am one of them. So proud of you and call if you need ANYTHING!
Always here for you – Cindy
Wendy….GO GIRL!! You can do ANYTHING with God’s help. You are already a winner.
With Love and bursting with pride for you!
Becky
Hi Wendy…I just posted my first video as well. I can’t tell you how many re-takes I did before I just said “F it”, and posted it. Someone said, out of 1,000 steps, the first is the most difficult.
